SP-Brazil Nut
Natural aquarium cave & valuable humic acid source from the Amazon!
Bring a real piece of jungle atmosphere into your aquarium: The SP-Brazil Nut is a beautiful, completely natural hiding place for your aquarium inhabitants. The shell of the well-known Brazil nut – also known as the Amazon almond – comes from the Brazilian to Colombian Amazon region, where it grows on gigantic trees. With its rustic, deep brown color and characteristic, irregular shape, this natural cave creates fascinating, wild accents in any aquascape.
Your benefits at a glance:
- Natural hiding place for large & small: Thanks to the precise 25 mm hole, the solid shell offers an ideal, darkened shelter. It is perfectly suited for shrimp, dwarf crabs, and smaller catfish species that seek protection from stress and tank mates here.
-
Long-term humic acid source: The thick wooden shell releases valuable humic acids into the water over an extremely long period. These tannins promote the vitality of your animals, support the molting of invertebrates, and strengthen the immune system of the entire tank population.
(Note: Humic acids can lead to a biologically valuable and completely harmless amber-colored water tint.) - Premium quality: Our Brazil nut caves are completely untreated and specially dried with care. They are completely free of harmful substances and safe for sensitive shrimp and fish breeding.
💡 Important application note (Soaking):
Since it is a heavy, pure natural product, the Brazil nut should be soaked in a suitable container for at least 2-3 days before use in the aquarium. Please change the water daily during this time. Thorough soaking ensures that the shell stays securely on the bottom and gently leaches out the initial concentrated tannins.
