GARNELEN4YOU® Alder Cones from the black alder (Alnus glutinosa) are a proven natural product for shrimp and nano aquariums. When soaked, they release bioactive substances such as humic acids, tannins, phenylpropanoids, and flavonoids into the water, which naturally lower the pH level, inhibit pathogenic bacteria and fungi, and condition the aquarium water in a natural way. At the same time, they provide a valuable grazing and feeding surface for shrimp, crayfish, and snails. Collected from unpolluted forest regions in Southern Germany – a product by biologist and shrimp breeder Dr. Philipp T. Baumann.

What alder cones do for your aquarium:

Application tip:

1 alder cone per 10–30 liters of aquarium water, depending on size. It is better to add several cones to the tank at different times to influence the pH level gradually. For therapeutic or preventive use, a larger quantity can be used under pH-controlled conditions. The slight brown discoloration of the water is completely normal and intended – it indicates that the bioactive substances are being released.
